Meet Auggie. Augustus for long. 60-65lbs Black Lab mix. He's just turning two this July. We adopted him when he was four months old.

A photo of his first day home and one about a year later and an artsy-fartsy one from a month or two ago.
I have an Auggie too! (The big one)

And the little one just turned two on Tuesday.

Auggie was the name the SPCA gave him, and we weren't really sold on it. Especially because the reason we adopted him was when we turned the corner, at the shelter, we saw him and THEN, we saw him trying to eat the concrete wall. My wife said, "let's get him, he's a little derpy!" So reluctantly, I approved after meeting him. We thought long and hard for a day or two about what to name him, and we decided Auggie was the way to since we couldn't do any better. Now, Auggie fits him to a T. Auggie seemed like a sophisticated, gentlemanly name. Surely unfitting of a puppy trying to eat a concrete wall. Now, the most legitimate name for him, ever. Auggies of the world, unite!

He did this pose, I swear. I was sitting where he was, playing with my daughter, and he jumped up and slumped down right behind me. I had to get a pic.

That is a beast with character. Props to you & your wife for saving him.!

Can't really lift his paw anymore, so he often pees himself against his belly. Have to wash him quite often nowadays.

Unfortunately Louis has caught kennel cough at the dog park but is on the mend now thanks to some rest and antibiotics. He was getting quite distressed when he was having a coughing attack so the vet suggested getting him a Thunder Shirt. It is amazing how it has a calming effect on him and soothes him in 3 or 4 minutes. They are like a snug fitting stretch vest and were originally designed to calm dogs who get upset by storms but work equally well for firework and separation anxiety. It was Au$65 and money well spent.

I'll ask Mrs Peemacgee to send our boys up
They like to lay in wait and ambush our local foxes

That's not good. Chunky caught mange from one of our local foxes about 2 years ago and I thought he was a goner at one point.

Managed to get shut of the fox and this is now our main visitor. Less harmful to Chunky but can't say the same for my plants and flowers

Whatever is comfortable, right?

Also she may have hated being brushed, but so glad that hair is not around the house.

Quickly becoming another member of the family, sits on the door handle waiting on someone to come out and feed him 🥰
