While watching a classic film that requires no introduction this guy landed on the side of the house. I took these pics without leaving my chair.
That’s a Red-bellied Woodpecker. He will peck a perfectly round hole in your house and move in. Get out of your chair and shoo him away!

Young Girl is stalking us - her new home is more palacious .... but she still trys to get back in here and likes to torture the Old boy by being in our garden. We are holding firm. She has the fur to wait us out and we have not had any rain for a while to encourage her home. I might look to sell her as a Ushanka ;0)

Hairy was cleaning her leg today and I fear this is getting out of control. Is she hiding another cat in there?

Did Hairy just see your Crazy Eyes watch? 😜
Oh my goodness you just gave me a thought. You know when gets get scared or are ready to fight they have the ability to puff out their fur make themselves look bigger? I have never seen hairy do that I got start seeing if I can scare her with stuffed animals or something. Gosh I hope I can catch it on film but she doesn’t scare easy I’m going to have to get creative. She chased a deer off our property two summers ago. I never said she was smart.

Looks like it might be a Flicka of some sort. Out west we have the “Great Western Flicka”, they are a small woodpecker (red Woody Woodpecker head but no crest like on TV). Sure sign of spring is them hammering on the tin chimney surrounds at dawn. Over the winter they make a ginormous mess digging in Mrs P.’s planters.

Interesting how they place their front paws but cat tracks are cool how they damn near perfectly step in the same spot with front and rear paws. So I was right cool thanks this year I saw the deer prints, Bob cats, I think one wolf pads were too big to be a local dog which I know most of but I found another set I wasn’t sure of. It was after a half foot of snow, very big tracks and went all the way down to almost human weight. I have no clue wtf that was I mean my wife thought it was a human walking outback but that area is not accessible to humans without leaving entry tracks from the road. I’m not particularly paranoid I just like to have an idea what’s running around I hate carrying a weapon and I’m sure whatever it is has better night vision and is quicker than me.

Poor rabbits out there in 0 degrees but they know how to survive.

Damn -30 intense it’s amazing how they do it. Just finding food gotta be tough we haven’t got hit with too much snow put the vegetation has been covered/dead for a while now. It’s a tough way to make a living.

Best of luck my friend I hate to sound morbid but whenever I bring sooper dooper to the vet I’m afraid she won’t be coming back with me. I hate seeing the vet with elderly animals. On the bright side she has made it back every time so there is that and I think old boy has a similar genetic make up so I’m feeling positive for you.
