Having survived a stormy Saturday with nothing more than roast chicken, a duvet and central heating to help him…. Old boy is happy to hunker down (indoors again :0) and enjoy some Sunday sunshine..

This brings up two questions. 1) should the cat be lying on the Dunhill wool blanket? and 2) why do we have a Dunhill wool blanket?

... why do we have a Dunhill wool blanket?

Same reason we have a Barbour jacket for the dog. Pets are family, or we're nuts.

You are incredibly lucky to still have your cat ! Never had a cat of that age...
Ha ha thanks. When the vet tech called so I could talk to the vet she “congratulated” me on soopers age but being perfectly honest I’ve done nothing unusual and unfortunately had at least one cat pass on that I rescued when sooper was prob 11 or so. Soopers friend made it to twenty and I have read the record for a domestic feline is 36, I would think that would be very unusual. I was still living with my parents when I got sooper. It is quite amazing really she has been with my my first apartment, marriage, first house but I chalk it up to genetics. Here is a weird tid bit of info, I rescued sooper dooper from a house full of sex offenders. At the time I was working for a program that housed sex offenders coming out of prison with the thought they could be treated by treating the trauma they had experienced. Unfortunately their sexual dis regulation includes animals and I found sooper who was months old in one of their rooms. Me and my buddy who were working the same shift were arguing who would take this little kitten. I was already to let him take it but he just got a beagle. A lot of memories go along with our animals. As long as I time this right and sooper doesn’t suffer at the end I’m sure I will grieve and be sad at her passing but I think I will always be happy I provided her a safe place to hang out for so many years and saved her from what could have been a very bad situation. Darn the story of sooper dooper she might outlive me for all I know.

If there's a heaven, there's a special place for people who rescue children, adults and animals. You'll be okay.

I don’t know if it’s that easy but I’m hoping it shaves off a few thousand decades in purgatory

We have not had mice in the garage for years....and if we ever get a string infestation we now have an expert female string assassin... Cat v1 and Cat v2 software remain incompatible so any adoption hangs in the balance. Old boy continues to be king of the duvet and ain’t sharing. I chat to him about letting young girl in more but I just get the
sh-t eye and 15 kinds of nope / no way :0). They have stopped hissing at each other.
So @Walrus progress is slow .. but still slow progress.

They always choose the best!

...hello up there!

Edit: I can really see how much Maxwell's coat has changed in the last couple of years - he was a pup in the top pic. He's much lighter now.

Performance reviews are in. The supervisor is exhausted.
