The love of our lives is in hospital at the moment and my old pal is totally lost, he has spent the day just wandering around or sitting staring in to space 🙁
I must confess I feel a bit out of sorts but her surgery has gone well and hopefully she will be home by the end of the week.

No I wouldn't inflict a pic.of yours truly on you all 😉
Truly hope she is well it’s a terrible thing to watch loved have to face these things and yes these things definitely throw the pets off, probably both your loves absence and you worrying, they sense it all.

Speaking of medical procedure I got creative giving sooper her IV the other day. She likes to look out the glass door so I hung the IV bag to the door and let it drip, she barely noticed

Glad to read the intervention was a success, and hopefully, you will all be together very soon again.

81 degrees here on the way to 90. Pretty hot for here this time of year. We had to pause on our walk for a breather.

How are the little loggers doing? Can't recall seeing any logging recently.

Edit: made it home. Took some convincing.

The old boy recommends a few hours in the pot to aid recuperation... but a sun lounger might be a better bet. Modern anaesthetics are much better in terms of after effects, so fingers crossed all goes well for you to all be re-united for the weekend. You and the four legged team can then be on nursing duty.

I have been meaning to post a few snaps of the real McKinley. He is quite a character.

The first pic is how he was laying on the back of the couch in my den this morning.
In the second pic, I have never seen a cat laying with his paws, pads together. Is he praying for treats?
I guess he was just hot and needed to air out his pits in the 3rd pic.
In the 4th pic, he said, "Look Dad, I am laying like a fawn in the woods."
In the fifth pic, he said, "Hey, Dad....take a pic with my head turned just so."
And in the last pic, I think he was just trying to look small, as he is a 13.5 pound cat.

Hairy waiting to come in. I got a problem, usually I’m up at 5:55a, don’t need to be at work till 8a but I like coffee and reading/watching news In the AM. Anyway a week and a half ago I completely forgot to set my alarms which I have never done prior. Anyway Hairy went on a meowing/walking all over rampage at 6:30a and was so relentless I thought it was like when dogs warn their masters the house is on fire or something. Anyway she saved me, still had plenty of time wasn’t late so I praised her and gave her extra treats. Unfortunately I must have gone overboard as now I’m going through this shit on Saturday’s and Sunday's I stayed up reading till like 4am and now she is insisting I’m up on the weekends at work time. Anyone know how to teach a cat how to take a couple days off, this is really starting to bother me.

You can teach a cat? I always thought it was the over way around.

Look on the bright side, think about how much you're going to be able to accomplish with this extra time.

That would be a valid point if I didn’t feel like such crap but point taken

He has a very interesting shape to his face. Is he some kind of purebred. I’d love to get a crazy looking purebred cat but someone will always end up saying “my cat had kittens I really need to get rid of them” then holds one up in front of me and it’s game over.

As far as I know, he is simply a mix breed common cat. We adopted him from a local shelter. I couldn't believe he had been there 10 days and not adopted. He looked so uncommon with his all white hair, pink pads and 2 different colored eyes. My daughter was looking for another black cat, to replace our previous cat, who had recently passed, when McKinley came over to me and was so friendly and purred so loudly that he sounded like a squeaky wheel. The people at the shelter told us he was found in an abandoned house, shut into one room without food for several days. I swear the cat realizes how lucky he is now and how good he has it. He honestly seems to appreciate us and will go right from one of us in the family to the next and rub on us and purr at the top of his lungs....sometimes to the point of making himself cough. Ok, I have rambled on way too much to simply tell you he is a common house cat. My apologies.

The old boy doesn't normally have the run of the house but due to current circumstances he has been given free reign and never leaves the bedside of the love of our life 🥰

No need to apologize a very apt description there is something about the shape of his face that reminds me of a certain purebreed which name I forgot. Funny though your description of how you picked him is very similar to how I ended up with Baxter who passed away in January. I was at the pound, he was a kitten and walked on top of his brothers and sisters to meow at me and started purring. I just said you might as well give him to me know as I’m not going to forget that. He had a great, though much to short 14 year run. McKinley is very handsome. Sleek all white cat usually you see a spot of black between the ears or something, nice kitty.

Summer time and Feline fine….
Birds flyin' high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by, you know how I feel
It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me
Yeah, it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me, ooooooooh
And I'm FELINE good

Is he black, brown or ginger... Puddles (long story) is a bit of an enigma in the Sunshine - I think he goes rusty. It is certainly his time of the year. I can never capture 'him' in a picture - I might rename him pie-pan as he changes all the time depending on the light - as shown from these pictures today :0)
Have a good week everyone.

New type of steering wheel shot. Super dooper has not eaten in 24hrs. I’ve tried three different brands she is acting like it isn’t food (stuff she normally eats) I made a mad dash to the store picked up 10 bags of these, let’s hope she likes them I don’t like making appointments for the vet for a 23 year old cat, it will work, think positive
