Not a pet, but part of the fauna that make our property their home....this little guy was digging at the base of a hydrangea bush outside my bedroom window this morning....I have noticed similar excavations this spring in several other planting beds...I thought our dogs were responsible, apparently not...

Interesting he looks so clean. When I see them in my area they look really ratty. I guess he is living well. My area has a high concentration of bobcats which frequently travel in pairs. I found that surprising as I thought of felines as more solitary but with a little more investigation I found it’s common to see them paired up. Great shot you got, I love those random encounters with wildlife, especially when they aren’t real big and your at a safe distance edit I know that’s not a bobcat I just brought it up as i see them quite often.

We have quite a few fox and coyote in the area. We have three outdoor cats. They come to the front porch to feed. If I forget to bring in their feeding dishes at night it is not uncommon to find a fox on the porch finishing whatever the cats didn’t eat. That drives our two good sized dogs nuts, as the double front door has full length glass panels. The fox is eighteen inches away from the dogs, separated only by the door, and he/she could care less. However, if the Fox sees me through the glass it runs away....and I am not even barking.

Nice... Palm trees in Scotland? 😀

We are on the East Coast and not often seen but on the West Coast they can be quite common due to the Gulf Stream

Elevated dogs...does anyone else have dogs that do this? I've posted before that Maeve likes her clamshell bed so much that when we vacuum the floors and put the bed up, she will get up and crawl right inside...

But we have another bed she will get into when it's not on the ground as well...

So another cleaning day recently, and now Remi is in on the elevated bed action...

And today Maeve wanted to sit on my wife's lap while she was working, which wasn't helping her work at all. So she put the bed up beside her desk, and Maeve loves it...

Close to mummy, with the smiley face and the elephant to keep her company...wearing my wife's shawl too!

Anyone else have dogs that like to be elevated in their beds?

Looks like cat behavior to me. Very cute none the less.

The not so little guy was due for a new (and bigger) bed... I think he approves the new purchase.

Oh no you didn't! I won't mention that you said that...I don't think they would like it much! 😉

This is obviously an optical illusion. That bottom dog is 1/2 the size of the top dog.

I just spent about an hour looking just at old posts from this thread. Great photos. This is definitely the best thread I've seen so far. Thanks for all the smiles.

Those two photos were taken about a day apart. He still likes to curl up in his old bed from time to time.

Shoot I got in a quick hike today. Someone pulled up with a Great Dane, the dog had its head sticking out the window it had to be the size of 2 or 3 human heads. Then he lets the dog out and without much effort put the guy off balance as the dog made its way over to check me out. Got to pat it and talk to it and ask it how it got so big. I’m sure on its hind legs it would be taller than me. Massive dog. They must eat a tremendous amount of food. I did want to take a picture but I felt weird asking the dude if I could take a picture of his dog. Definitely cool to have one around but if I ever do get a dog again, which I hope to, I don’t know if I could deal with that. I don’t want an animal that weighs more than me, unless it was a walrus but I don’t think they are legal and I don’t have a pool so one of them is pretty much ruled out
