Hey sorry to hear about bonnies illness but I gotta ask what your vet is trying. I have the same problem with sooper dooper who is 22 years older than Bonnie. Cold symptoms that won’t dissipate. I’ve had her on anti bio tics and an anti viral but she can’t seem to shake the thing. I was chalking it up to her age but now hearing a kitten with similar issues I’m thinking maybe my vet missed something
It took quite a bit of protest on my behalf as I was sick of treating the symptoms rather than the cause.
Once we went to this particular vet hospital they took xrays and ultra sounds as well we had to provide snot samples (sounds gross but no better way to phrase it) which we had to provide later as Bonnie would not snot on command😀
Below is what was prescribed after the snot analysis, nine days of 3 injections a day and another 2 weeks of daily medication. So far it is looking positive with another 10 days of medication to go.

Ah thanks to both of you I’m going to see if I can make an appointment tomorrow at the vet. I was going to do an oil change but you guys gave me some new avenues to investigate. She is ok and eats like a horse but she will often do 10 sneezes in a row which is funny from a human perspective but must be annoying to her.

@sxl2004 and @Barking mad thanks guys sooper is at the vet now I’m sitting here waiting for her to come back. They are trying a new antibiotic she said due to soopers advanced age (she just said she can’t believe how old this cat is) we may not be able to fully treat the cold symptoms just try to manage it. Also getting some lab work done which I hope comes out ok because if there is a problem you aren’t going to do much for a 23 year old cat. Bottom line it’s all good. As long as I know I tried everything I can deal with her runny nose although her sneezing on me isn’t that cool. Gotta be honest it’s nerve racking bring a cat this old to the vet as she has basically lived two cat lifes and I’m always afraid the vet will say “we found such and such gotta put her down”. Thus far sooper dooper lives to sneeze another day. Hope I didn’t jinx myself they are doing blood work now. I can’t put up a picture of her now with her runny nose she would be horrified if she knew I did that to her.

With cats that old you have to enjoy everyday. But Sooper seems to be a fighter.
All the best to her.

Sooper must like you for putting up with you for 20 some odd years (think you adopted her, right?)

Not sure how she did it. She must like your watch collection. 😉

Tell the vet your friends think there shouldn't be a bill for cats over 20.

Spoiled nut job,

(Doing some housekeeping and piled up the pillows on the chair. He thought it was a good place for a nap.)

Well today’s venture for sooper brought me even more meds to give her. I won’t give you a figure but I definitely spent a good vintage watch on sooper 2 times this year. Something tells me she doesn’t care

Hope it helps! Neo getting old, he also now need daily pills for his arthritis... 1€/each... He takes 2/3 per day...

But today he was in a jumping mood... We came to visit his uncle and Neo loves his garden, he started running like crazy and then playing with his ball.
Sorry photo heavy!

Bet he'd knock you on your ass if he ran into you! Pity the fool who gets between him and that ball.

Sure thing... He doesn't have much fat! He weights 33kg since he was 4 years old. He is 9 and same weight!
When he was younger he was wilder, he once was running and playing in the park, and ran into a teckel who was just calmly sitting next to his owner... The teckel was thrown 2 meters back! To this day I don't know why Néo didn't stop, he just ran into the poor little dog... and Néo was like... "What happened? Did I just do that?"
The teckel's owner was shocked, she just stared in disbelief!

Same yesterday...vacuuming and put a dog bed on the chair, and soon a dog was in it...

And yes, there is a pattern here...

Night descends and the old boy starts to perk up a bit...…. maybe some cat stuff to do tonight ... but if it is too cold I imagine it will just be a quick comfort break and then on the bed for a few hours :0)
