Movie night. Tonight is “Despicable Me 3”. The girls do enjoy many of the kids movies but not quite this one. Interestingly they love old episodes of Tom & Jerry, which is now a family favorite.
Bonnies week in review. What's going on down there? And again. If he was just a little closer I would have him. Waiting for the Doc. I know at least one of those is for me Ready yet? At the docs again. Finally treating the cause rather than the symptoms of my constant cold which is why you see me in a coat sometimes. Seven days of 3 needles each day and found out today another 3 or 4 days to go. This better fix me. They won't even know I am here. So hungry but no energy, do you think that if I rolled over you could just pour it down? They would be lost without me! Speaking of lost. Done
Not quite a pet but if he carries on the way he is going it is only a matter of time, spends all day wandering round the garden or sitting on top of this hedge where he also sleeps at night.
What typewriter? Kidding. Not much. I did have it cleaned and adjusted. There's a guy here who knows typewriters so we're lucky. This one is an Underwood, which was the secretaries standard tool in the day. It takes a bit more pressure than I like because it's old tech. I have a Royal that's more user friendly that I use. I went through a typewriter phase and have a few more. Unfortunately they take up alot of space. But I think a person who likes watches would appreciate vintage typewriters. The mechanics, there's complications even, and brand histories, innovations, even colors and design. But I didn't go too far down the rabbit hole. Mainly liked the tactile feel and some art deco designs of the portables. They're pretty cheap. Lots on Craigslist. Of course there are the more rare and collectible but more like the cost of an average Hamilton. But like I said, the size is tough. My wife doesn't like the cost of watches but she really doesn't like a house full of old typewriters. You should consider getting one if you're interested. Just stay away from the rabbit hole. Compulsive personality types are at risk.
Growing up, my dad had one very much like your Underwood at home. I used it a bit, but my favorite was the IBM selectronics he had at his work. I just loved them. I had a fully mechanical one at my office for awhile, but it has found a new home. What I like about watches, is that they don't take up much space.
Selectronics were amazing and game changers. The quartz revolution. I actually think one of the main appeals of watches is the size. Especially compared to cars.
Do you have a cat? I think it was the cat. That poor Yorkie was framed! Damn cat snuck a bit of TP under his chin while he was napping.
Hey sorry to hear about bonnies illness but I gotta ask what your vet is trying. I have the same problem with sooper dooper who is 22 years older than Bonnie. Cold symptoms that won’t dissipate. I’ve had her on anti bio tics and an anti viral but she can’t seem to shake the thing. I was chalking it up to her age but now hearing a kitten with similar issues I’m thinking maybe my vet missed something
one of our young cats had cold multiple severe infections and was sneezy. She also breathed labored/ snoring. She was the runt of the litter (at least compared to her sister). Turned out to be a polyp. After removal she is now a different and healthy cat. Best
