Any of you have any ideas or suggestions for car sickness? One of our dogs gets motion sickness after about 30 minutes in the car. Right about the distance it takes us to get to the lake. For longer trips, we give a Benadryl which helps get to sleep the entire time. But for the short ones we want her to be awake when we get to the destination lol.

Ya, my vet makes fun of Baxter but she is always impressed with the size of his cheeks. I did recently adjust his diet, the vet hasn’t seen him recently I just notice he is really blowing up. I was definitely over feeding him. I leave dry food out all the time and give them canned food at night. I have three cats but recently discovered he was eating 80% of the dry food plus the nightly canned food.

the vet did recommend Prozac for my cat hairy. She really is quite a spazz but she is perfectly fine if everything goes her way 100% of the time, I can’t see dumping chemicals into her just because she is weird. I’m 100% convinced if she was human she would be a substance abuser.

We had our bulldog on Prozac for awhile, helped some but not enough that eventually felt it wasn't worth it to have him on it. We did however have Xanax for fireworks as he would absolutely freak out, painful to see him in so much distress.

Ya I know what you mean about the fireworks my old doggy, long since passed would shake like a leaf on the Fourth of July. She would calm down as long as she she could maneuver her 60 lbs into your lap so we left it at that.

hairy the cat is a little different. She belonged to a family member who had mental health and Alzheimer’s issues. This person kept ending up in the hospital for long periods of time and I was lead to believe the cat was being taken care of by my cousins. Turns out that wasn’t happening so I went up to get the cat (another state) she was malnourished and covered in sores. It was eczema from stress. I would bring her to the vet every few months for steroid shots but she eventually accepted our home and now only gets the eczema on rare occasions.

she is doing 100% better she just wants her own litter box, food bowl, doesn’t want me acknowledging the other two cats my family has dumped off on me, if I follow those rules she is fine

After the beach on Friday, we went to the woods on Saturday for a 12km walk

As an avid hiker/walker that looks like a beautiful walk. You came across some interesting things and your surroundings are beautiful. Is the dog ok with 12km? I’m sure he is it just seems like quite a distance. I’m several years out from my dog passing so I don’t recall what was recommended walk distance for dogs anymore

He was tired for sure in the evening, but he handled the walk quite fine despite his 9 years 😀

He is quite an active dog, as my shadow he follows me almost everywhere when I go out in the neighbourhood or so. We probably walk 7-9km/day in any case.

That was him, on Saturday evening...

At least you still have a dining room table, unlike some members. 😁

Here is a picture of our cat, Bernard, planning to overthrow humanity.

Beautiful, these eyes should be in a Bond film 🥰

Nothing like casually looking over and seeing Stan with a massive swollen tongue, scrambling to check he isn't choking, he realising a new game is afoot, starts charging round the house at lightning speed trying not to be caught, Frank destroying a sofa cushion out of excitement, anyway it's a squeeker from a teddy and now I have a swollen toe.
