alpha if you don’t mind me asking what is the average lifespan of that type of pooch? I had to put my Shepard down at 14 (very sad day) but she was quite big, around 80 pounds. I think smaller dogs generally live longer. I’ve mentioned my elderly cat who is coming up on 22. Which I’m now finding isn’t highly unusual and there are cats that are documented have lived into their 30’s.

12/15 years seem to be average, hopefully many more for the boy but I would never let him suffer.

Well don’t sweat it. He is here now that’s all that matters. Sooper dooper was almost put down four years ago until a different vet recommended daily IV and a couple other meds. Here she is yesterday, not a lot of energy but certainly not suffering.
