Apologies to the normal people of Marlow for the mud covered puppy wanting cuddles from innocent picnickers , the Logger who dragged a fence post through a flower bed and me for inventing new swear words infront of your children at 100db.

Yesterday marked 2 years since we brought home Primrose. To celebrate we decided to get her a job as a supermodel. I think she’s got what it takes.

Ok, she can pose nicely too.

The ugly pills do not seem to be working.

Five months old. A real smart cookie. Very quick on the uptake.

We've been banished to the woods, finally got a couple of decent shots of Frank not either upsidedown or covered in dirt.
A serene moment shortly before Stan demolished a kids hideout made of large sticks....because sticks.

NB: Now I've seen these pictures on a laptop I recall my use of the word 'decent' because 'potato phone' and have booked an eye appointment.

Just when you thought a dog could not find a more uncomfortable sleeping position...

He is such a goof, but we love him. 🥰

Remi has been having some issues at night - not sure if anyone else has had this happen before. We have crates for both Remi and Maeve, and when we are out of the house for long periods they will go in their crates, and we also keep them in there at night - this is their den and safe space. These crates are not in the same room as we are. Remi has been doing this for many years, but over the last couple of weeks when we go to bed he will start crying soon after...then yelping...then barking.

My wife has been sleeping in another room because we have both have summer colds (they suck!) and each of us coughing is keeping the other up. So she has taken Remi in with her a few nights, and he seems okay when that happens. At first it was the odd night, but now it happens almost every night - I was afraid that as soon as we gave in, he would be doing this every night.

He's 9 now, and the only physical thing I can think of is that maybe his eyesight is failing, and this is stressing him out in the dark. One of our previous dogs (Lhasa Apso) was going blind and when that started he was terribly distressed when it was dark in the room, so we are going to get Remi's eyesight checked to see if this is maybe the trigger. I realize that by giving in (in order to sleep!) we have made this worse, but has anyone else had this, and if so, what did you do?

Cheers, Al

For our dogs when we are out of the house, they wear dog diapers. More of pants. They are much happier wandering around the house. No accidents in the house. We put a women’s pad in it so you don’t have to wash every time

Same but kind of different.
Usually, both boys sleep down stairs, have their own beds and were mostly happy being left to it.

While we were in France in June, the doggos had a holiday at mums, thrown in with the pack, all sleeping down stairs. Puppies are thrown into this as well and find their way around, figure out where to sleep etc, not a concern, more an adventure for them, Frank being no exception.

When we returned home with the boys, after France, Frank started to night bark.
Now i've been around dogs all my life and the usual course of action was to revert to puppy training 'you bark therefore you want to go outside', which noramlly solves this.
But Frank did not let up, and still hasn't. Stan gets super grumpy as a result of being kept awake, so after 6 or so sleepless nights of constant barking, right now we're in a trial period of moving Franks bed upstairs, where he can move about.
Stan stays downstairs.
So far, no more night barking from Frank, however I do need to find a solution as not entirely happy with the behaviour.

How many dogs dream ?
Sammy will be fast asleep and growls and barks in his sleep all the time. Is he chasing something? Fighting over food ?
Quite a vocal little guy. If I wake him up, he has that look of surprise or “hey I almost had it”

This isn't why we crate them....it's more about keeping them from getting into a fight than anything else.

Thanks - we are looking for things that might be disturbing him so we just replaced the bed in his crate with a new one that is softer. I'm hoping it's something we can figure out soon...

Could try relocating the crate for a little while? Upstairs or in another room. Our working theory was that Frank was spooked to be on his own ( for what ever reason) seem much happier sorting himself out upstairs at the moment.
