A bit tired of watches this evening 馃う and decided to start at the beginning of this thread and what a great time it was although only scratched the surface.
So many lovely memories of those lovely friends whether gone or still with us 馃グ

Sadly, little Roxy is no longer with us. This morning she took some shade from the sun under the back wheel of our car.
She was 18 and stone deaf so didn't hear the car start when my G/F went shopping.
We got her to the vet but there was no chance of saving her.
We will miss her.

How awful, your G/F must feel terrible. Something similar happened in our family with a puppy when I was a child, and it was really traumatic. So sorry to hear this.

So sad, and sorry for your loss. These things unfortunately happen too often. Nobody wants to click "like" on the post in support of you, because it says "like" and we like you but don't like the post.

We thought for the longest time Stan was deaf. All the Pieds in his litter had gone so ( more common in whiter doggos).
After trips to the vets, turns out he has selective hearing.
Can also hear cheese.

Exhibit A- recall. No cheese present.

As you probably know, this type of deafness is specifically related to the piebald/MITF gene. Should not happen in a brindle like Stan, who has very little white, even from the same litter.

We tried the biscuits call but no response, if he is sleeping he will occasionally detect movement through the floor and waken. 馃檨

Yeah, we thought it was unlikely but Mrs Wiv wanted a precautionary check , turns out he's just a belligerent sod 馃榿

Doggo question:

Gents, I will be relocating with the miss and the doggo. I鈥檒l have to drive with my golf for 2000km more or less and is the first time I鈥檓 driving so much with my dog.

I was checking a bit online some recommendations and I was wondering what you could add to:

- obviously frequent breaks
- not driving too fast to avoid using the brakes harshly in case of danger
- limiting AC due to thermal shock between inside the car and outside (we are driving to Italy and is summer, so up to 40 Celsius)
- having some toys for her to play

... what else?

Thanks
