Interestingly, last night we went to the opening night of a play and sat near a Greyhound owner from the US (New York state based on the accent), and they were involved in adopting retired racing Greyhounds. They said since decided Florida to stop Greyhound racing (by 2020), their supply of Greyhounds has really dropped off. It seems this close to the ban the breeders may be sticking with the dogs they have, so fewer dogs are being retired and put up for adoption.
