The OP's original question is a tough one and worthy of a serious response.

I do think that my watch imbues me with a particular quality that improves my life.

After many years, I belive I have discerned that each watch only conveys one or possibly two improvements.

That is why they need to be collected in larger quantities, so that you can tailor the improvement that you need to have for any particular day.

You now have one.

By judiciuosly combining the properties imbued by your collection your life and that of those around you will improve.

Once we all own the correct number of watches with the correct combination of improvements we will achieve World Peace.

...and possibly harsher penalties for parolee violators.

Lets wait and see what happens.
No it isnt its a bloody stupid question with no answer at all its a question specifically designed to get a thread that makes no sense.. its bloody stupid but can be entertaining.. and @ulackfocus no sensible human being came into THIS thread for a theological discussion did they? or to vastly increase their horological understanding of the history of speedmaster... they probably came from a little break from that so hey! i like threads like this... not not ALL of them and that IS why OF is good when the thread has peaked it will be CUT and REMOVED not long after it descends into random babbling nonsense.. or just after this post.

What was the question again?

Anyways, I don't really like these kind of speedies, all look the same, to my eyes, pretty mundane

Does ANYONE doubt my precognitive abilities anymore? Seriously, everything I said back in 2012 about what would happen to this place is now occurring. It's the price of popularity on the internet.

Just home from work and three pages about a speedmaster that gave someone divine intervention

That's it I am starting a religion

Get in line - I started one already mate...

And if you want to disagree with me, I'll start a crusade to wipe your sect off the face of the earth, and then turn on my own with inquisitions...all in the finest traditions of religions of course.

Nope, hasn't changed one bit. No one even really notices my watches. But I still enjoy it! 😀

It was my first substantially nice time piece. 98% of the people that see it are clueless but I walked with more confidence. That's all that matters to me

Short answer yes.
Long answer; in more ways than I appreciated before I saw this thread.
When my father gave me my 2998, neither one of recognized the importance of the time piece. More important than the monetary value of the watch, a new or should I say, renewed friendship was started. Now we converse about our vintage time pieces, new purchases, visit his watchmaker together and have more to talk about than the local pro baseball team.
Moreover, the acquiring of the 2998 has led me here. I have a couple of buddies who are starting to grown an interest in watches in general, but this forum has more. Kind of like a talk radio show or maybe a visit to your local watering hole. Most days you can find something worthy of reading or conversing about, and for that... yes! my quality of life has improved.

Not bad. My personal favorite of my WUS pseudo-screen names was Homage-Sapien.

If you're feeling a little down or put upon you can post a pic of your Speedie on this forum and quickly be flooded with "likes."
It can boost your mood and improve your life. Maybe?

I still want a Speedmaster .... even though I already have too many watches.
I am sending my wonderful 23 year old daughter to McMaster medical school in September. When I pay for her first year, $27,000 Canadian, I am planning to celebrate an buy a Speedy ! So I'd say it will improve the quality of my life !

Here are 5 Ways to Improve Your Quality of Life
  1. Enjoy an Ed White that was purchased before prices rocketed to the moon
  2. Enjoy a Mark II in mint condition and with an incredible blue dial
  3. Enjoy a tritium 3572.50
  4. Enjoy the best Speedmaster LE ever issued
  5. Strap on the CK2998
The quality of life was already good, can't say that the speedmasters have improved my quality of life, but I can say that I truly do enjoy my collection. And the search for a 1980s era speedy goes on....
