Hi all, need some advice please on anyone here who may have experience in purchasing from the online and UK based dealer 'Vintage & Prestige'. They have an Omega I am keen to buy but wonder if anyone has experience in using them? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Spoke to them on the phone and asked more info on the watch. It looks like a small business dealing used watches. I think I spoke to the owner, he sounded honest and not pushy. Pointed to a couple of faults on the watch. Watch is also listed on chrono24.

 

Looks like an earlier piece based on the outer AR coating.
These came in 42 and 45.5mm so I’d check.

that is not the original box, but it is a better box then it would have had.

price seems a little high.

 

Thanks. I am looking for the 42mm case and this the right. I also thought the box looked wrong for an early Planet Ocean. Price steep, I agree.

When I read a statement like hand polish or sleeve polish it means the watch has been polished. Wiping a steel watch with a cloth doesn’t remove metal.

 

I have seen 'hand polished' refer to (unfortunately) watches polished by hand but with heavy abrasives - I came across an otherwise great Seiko 'Willard' that had been generously described as "restored to military toughness by hand with a fine grit paper" i.e. some nudnik used sandpaper on it.

Moral is, definitely check what polished means EXACTLY - I've been collecting for ten years now and just got burned on a 'lightly polished' piece...

Mine was from 2009 & had the Red Vinyl box so I’m not sure if the wooden one is “right”
