See my prior post for model and serial number
I asked Omega in Switzerland on my work order to retain as much of the original patina as possible.
I don’t know why they replaced the face since it was perfect condition to my uneducated eye, but at least they sent it back . It still looks perfect so I suppose someone ,someday could have it reinstalled .
I’m the only owner and Im not selling it so my kids will have to deal with it if they choose when they settle my estate LOL
I west it often now .

a Minute a day is to much for a serviced Watch.
I agree but I would not part with it again to send back to 🇨🇭 to fix. If you end up reinstalling original dial watchmaker can regulate it then, probably won't take much to tweak timing.
Enjoy the watch not often do we see original owners watch.

Problem with the original dial is that it was badly relumed already, not very appealing IMO...

Would a regular watch repair shop had done this on their own accord ? I don’t recall if I ever gave it to Omega in NYC for repair but I may have . It’s been so many years . I have owned it since new , about 58 years now.
I’m not a collector however the president of IWC North America awarded one of their pilot chronographs a few year ago for leadership in an aviation charity. It’s a beautiful watch, but it’s a huge, self winding thing .
The Speedmaster is much more wearable for me . It will be my daily watch until I break it again and send it back to Omega. If it looks original I’ll be a happy camper .

Not sure about pricing there, but st least here in Finland my watchmaker takes 10€ for calibrating the time keeping and does it while waiting. With that you should get it running something like -3s to +7s per day since it's just serviced.
