Hello everyone thanks for reading!

I’m looking to purchase a Speedmaster Professional and found this ref. 3572.50 at a store.

Everything looks great except for these stains in which the store has express they’re water stains.

My question is are these stains easy to remove? Or is a some restoration work/replacement dial required?

Thank you

Hey tritto thanks for the reply. As for how the water got in salesperson does not know unfortunately. They did do an in-house service on the watch after purchasing it however and it seems to be running fine.

Also that raises a good point, if they serviced it but couldn’t clean up the dial then maybe it’s more serious than it looks?

It looks like the moisture on the dial has initiated corrosion spots. I don't think it will get any better, and may get worse over time.
Unless you can factor in the cost of a service dial, and the movement is not affected, it would be a pass for me.

@DrWhippy, in case I wasn't clear, if water got onto the dial, then water got into the movement. There may be unseen rust that isn't immediately evident. Consider whether you'd buy it if you needed to factor a full service and parts into the equation.

Thank you JimInOz for your input. Yea given what you said I’ll sit on it, a new dial would overshoot the price by a long shot.

Right, no you were clear but I guess I didn’t directly address you when I mentioned a service. That makes sense and I’m going to pass on this one. Thanks for the input!
