I agree, however it would be very unusual for dies to cause this sort of damage. I've pressed a shit ton (technical term) of bezels on using a press, and honestly never seen anything like this before.

my money is on wrong size die. circular lines are all over bezel, not just one sector.

there might be another crazy explanation - he used case opener (screw type) to press, but that would be top level stupidity.

Hi Guys
The repairer has offered to replace my bezel with a near perfect DN 90 bezel. Do you think the watches value is better with the damaged 220, or near perfect DN90?

thanks

The 220 bezel is an interesting curiosity, but doesn't really add much value beyond a regular DN90 IMO. So a better condition DN90 would be preferable from a purely financial perspective. Assuming it is truly a period correct bezel.

Make sure, he offers you a genuine DON. There are scary good replicas out there..... Many close ups needed.....

The offer is not for a DON though...

220 bezel is a cool feature, I wouldn't change it if mine, but only if in the right serial range, and in that case, would prefer a € compensation.
But curious to know if the watchmaker has removed it or not during service...
Bad story anyway... On vintage, the more one touch, the more one takes risks...

A clean dn90 that is early with seriphs is worth the same as a 220 currently. With a 220 having a 3-500 additional value for the complete set at most.

Thanks for the reply guys.
I was always told a 220 bezel increased the value of the watch considerably.
I realise a DON90 is quite valuable, but I would of thought a 220 would be more sort after than a DN90?
