No. If you wear it every day your wrist will keep it properly wound.

Unless you're talking about something very difficult to set, like a perpetual calendar, my opinion is that there is no reason to run a watch that isn't being worn.

Just causes unnecessary wear and may hasten the day it needs further service.

Regarding this, is there any sort of happy medium? Ie, if a watch isn't being worn for a while, can just sitting cause other sorts of problems if the watch is not in motion?

oddboy think of it like a new car

1 Drive it every day = tyres and oil gets dirty quick ( service regularly)
2 Drive it once a week= not as bad as above but still working
3 Drive it once a month =New condition lasts longer (less harm when its sitting around)
4 Drive it once a year = better than above and would not get it serviced as much as 1,2 ( still want to start it every month or two to keep running)
