Hi. I’m being offered to purchase this Seamaster 300. It’s from a local seller buts it’s still quite a drive away. Can anyone identify the ref from the two photos I’ve been provided with? The seller doesn’t know the ref. Secondly, I haven’t been able to find a mid size Seamaster with this type of bracelet buckle...so is the bracelet original? But more importantly, is there any tell tale signs that this piece could be a replica? Lastly, the photo is blurry but it looks like the bezel is in bad bad shape. How much would it cost to get it replaced with an OEM? Thanks

Hi,

I believe it is a 36mm automatic Seamaster 300 reference 2551.80 from the early 2000s. It’s genuine and I would leave bezel as is. It works with the character of the watch.

Bracelet looks correct, but it has the wrong clasp. Looks like a previous owner has replaced the original clasp with one from an older Speedmaster (I think!).

I believe the bracelet came off an old Omega Seamaster 120 from the same era — they had the Bond style bracelet but that clasp. Wherever the bracelet came from, though, it is in horrible condition. Look at those huge gaps between the links all over. The bars holding it together are shot. I wouldn’t be surprised if it fell apart as soon as you tried to put it on.

I wouldn’t buy this one unless it was a steal.
