Help With Identifying Authenticity of an Omega DeVille Co-Axial Watch

Hi Omega Forum,
I recently purchased an Omega on eBay for $200 and was wondering if anyone can help identify if it is authentic or not.

The photos provided are the photos the seller provided; I have not received the watch yet.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Fake
A cal 9300 looks like this

And is a chronograph (stopwatch) movement, not a time only movement.

Not a surprise for $200!

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. With eBay & PayPal, I have no problem rolling the dice on this stuff since both sites are completely buyer-sided. Thanks again.

I take that as code for "i couldnt be bothered to do 3 minutes worth of research, by googling the phrase 'omega cal 9300' and instead will freeride on others"

That assumption is quite far from the truth; I actually did research the watch after I bought it (since I saw the deal and didn't want to lose it). My findings were not completely conclusive so I decided to go to a forum.

The picture you provided is the back of a Seamaster, and they do not look like the back of DeVille's. If you research the back of Omega DeVille's, you will note that they do not look like the back of Seamasters but actually look more like the back of the watch I purchased.

Omega went through a series of different ownerships between 1997 and 2007, which may have influenced subtle designs to their collection.

I appreciate your brief input, but after seeing your ignorance, I now doubt how reliable it is.

Thanks anyway.

I think Canberra's statement is pretty accurate, and your claim about his ignorance is a glaring case of the shoe being on the wrong foot. Research isn't something you do after you buy a watch, unless it's just to confirm that you screwed yourself. Even so, 30 seconds reading the first Google entry for Omega 9300 would show you the movement should include a chronograph, so how much research could you have done? A co-axial Deville for $200? And you're wondering if it's real?

$200 is fair, maybe it was just left to somebody's Mum by an Uncle.

Just stunning. But being charitable CO (I realize you're not in the mood), he may have actually snagged this POS on ebay from someone who bought it on that replica site. Check completed listings. His mistake here was uttering that ignorant, defensive nonsense. Actually, he'd have been better off buying from the fake site, though finding it would have required "research." The one shown there at least has the words Swiss Made centered at the bottom. And he wouldn't have had to grab it quick before it sold, because my hunch is they have a 55-gallon drum full of these things.

Update: You'll love this.
Found it in completed listings, bought on 6/30. Same watch, same pictures. Description... "Only thing wrong with watch is it dose not work. The movement spins just dose not hold a charge." "This watch can be used for parts or repair." Yeah, I'd be buying that one quick before it got away...

The back of a Cal 9300 is always the same whether Seamaster, Deville, or Speedmaster, the calibres don't vary depending on the watch they're in, if a special calibre is needed for a given watch it typically has a unique number like Cal 9301 for the gold rotor version that goes in gold case watches, however even that is the same between a gold Seamaster, Deville or Speedmaster.

Omega did not go through a series of owners at all, for the last 32 years since 1983 it has been owned by Swatch Group. Prior to this it was owned by SSIH for over half a century.

Interesting that the Omega Item number listed in the Ebay listing does not match the fake shown. The buyer should search that part number on Omega's site, and see that it should be a completely different watch (but still a DeVille) with an 8500 caliber movement.
