Hi,

I am new looking to buy my first vintage watch. I really like the look of the late 1968-9 Omega Geneve blue sunburst series like 166.041 / 135.041.

I was thinking of getting an automatic movement for my first outing, so a cal 565 or similar, rather than a 601 or 613.

1) Can I get feedback on these examples?

A) 166.041 - cal 565 - £850 - looks ok but not sure, seems over priced £350-550 seems to be where the money it

B) 166.041 - cal 565 - £850 - is the black dial legitimate? assume not as not dial only shot. the crystal looks original / scratched although the listing say it was replaced.

2) For my reference and to build up some experience, I assume both of these have been heavily overhauled new crystal and cases polished. Welcome any observations on either to help guide my radar:

3) Where else beyond eBay is a good place to seek out such vintage watches (based in UK)? international is okay.

Hi and welcome

You are asking an awful lot for a first post to expect people to follow numerous links and then give you an appraisal of many watches

maybe search around the various threads first especially the one below and gain knowledge as well as information on the way OF works and how best to post for advice. If you stay around long enough you will find it rewarding and worthwhile if you are interested in watches
