Help with Constellation 165.007

Hi

Thanks in advance for some guidance. This constellation ticks many boxes for my first vintage omega:
Dated to 1966 (upcoming birthday)
No date
Steel
Caseback medallion
Located in Australia so no issues with imports, duty etc. Dealer has a physical presence, which although obviously adds to the price, I take some comfort from and offers a 12 month warranty.

Price would be over $2000 USD. It is at the very top of what I am prepared to pay for a vintage watch.

It is in another city, so need to to rely on photos and dealer’s descriptions - original dial, glass, crown, all good condition, serviced in 2016 (need to add a service to the price ). Lugs look rather soft / scratched, and is there an issue with the gasket under the glass?

Huge thanks in advance for any assistance.

That is not an Omega Ref 165.007. Need way better pictures, especially the lugs. Have the dealer provide the correct reference and compare lugs. These look way too worn.

On second look. I see it's a 167.005 Dog-legged Constellation. Dial is nice. But once again, this is the dog-legged Constellation, so the lugs should be sharp, especially over $2000 US.

It’s simply a typo - the reference being 167.005.

The dial looks correct.
The crown is a replacement.
The case does look a little soft but we need much better images @GCC.
Especially the ones of the whole watch.

I should have added - I’m not sure about that hour hand - too slim.

I’m not sure how you are uploading your photos but they are arriving as very blurry thumbnails

Sorry - I can see that now. Strange, will try and figure it out

They are a bit better but still not clear - you need to download the photos onto whatever kit you are using rather than screen grabs.
Then upload them here.
(And you can edit the thread title to show the correct reference)

Yea pretty heavily polished and wrong crown, not what I'd want to pay anywhere near $2k for.

What a disaster. Those photos look nice and clear on my iPad, including the screen shots. I’ll try a different approach. And I can’t find an option to edit the thread title? Maybe best to delete and start again.

As far as I can tell, I’m unable to edit thread name or delete, assume due to not enough activity. If A kindly moderator would like to do so to be 167.005 would be much obliged.

From what we can see, as @dsio says, the watch is too polished to warrant the asking price.
If you look at the bottom left lug- where the upper facet runs to a point at the end - and then compare it to @lucreative ’s rather lovely case - that’s all you need to see about this watch.
