Hello everyone, I have my 15 year anniversary coming up and have decided to buy my wife a watch. I’m looking at a 1963 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ladies. The reference is 6618 and has an 1130 movement.

a couple things I’m concerned with is the marking inside the case back says 6623. I have seen this on a couple other 6618s though. Also the lume dot at 6:00 is covering the Swiss.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I assume you are 100% certain your wife would like a 60-year-old Rolex as an anniversary gift?

just asking, because if I did that instead of buying her the new Balon Bleu she wants, I’d be in the dog house for 15 years!

    ;)

Haha! Yes, I am certain. I was gifted a 1952 Rolex a couple years ago at the end of an apprenticeship. She has always liked it and since this year is 15, the traditional gift is crystal. We decided to get mine serviced as her gift to me and get her one for herself. We both would rather have vintage than new.

I just don’t want to give her a Frankenwatch. She wouldn’t know but I would. Plus it will go to our daughter one day.

    Thanks for looking out!
