Hi, how about this one: It seems to be off centre to the left side: 500, 400, 350 are cut 70, 75 and 80 also Is it a production problem or a kind of manipulation? Thank you very much!
1 The bezel looks to have been off centre during printing. 2 The numbers on the right (170 to 275) and some of the dots as well look as though the bezel was moved before the printing was finished thus causing a shadow on the left of the numbers and the dots. On top of that - but that has nothing to do with the printing - the bezel has been rotated 1 or 2 degrees clockwise, showing some lack of quality control at some point in the watches life. If you look at the pics on speedmaster101 (105003, which I suspect this is) you'll see a slight difference in centering of the bezels on the 3 watches shown. But nothing as extreme as this one. It could be sloppy printing or a new fake but a very elaborate one with artificial ageing. It will be very interesting to see what the experts think.
Looks original to me. They are often poorly printed. The bezel often slips when pressed on to the case if it is a tight fit, not a problem to get it done more precisely.
It is certainly not uncommon; my 145.012-67 also has a DON with a slightly shifted printing as can be observed best in the 7's of the 70 and 75 mark.
Just a question that has been bugging me. Does the DON that fit straight lug and asymetric case any differences at all? Different concave? Are they interchangable without any problem?
I spotted that one this morning too and wondered exactly the same - concluded that it's probably original, but that QC wasn't what it is now, in the mid 1960s
