A happy day for me as 3 of my vintages came back from servicing. Though a hole was burnt in my pocket. Cost me a significant sum...

As promised, enjoy the photos for the blue bezel and his 2 bros fresh from service.

063PW5139, is the correct crystal

Thank you. Will keep a lookout for one. What is a cost effective way to buy one?

I didn't see you mention that the indices were scraped at some point. The color certainly changed. I was going to suggest just that. Who scraped them? It's a very delicate process that can go terribly wrong.

They are not scrapped off. Just brownish and lume intact. I think quite a common issue for the blue bezel speedmaster. Have seen a few with such markers. My prime suspect is mould. But then again, how can mould 'coat' the lume so evenly???

So you're saying they went from nearly black to what I see in the last photos without any help? That was quite a change. Don't you see it? And they had been wet at some point. I've owned a few that looked the same upon arrival. There's no shame or guilt in scraping off the worst of it. It looks much better now.

It is lighting bro. Those photos that looked black is due to my room's unnatural light. The brownish ones are in natural sunlight. If you click on both sets of photos to enlarge them, and compare lume on each index, you will see they are exactly the same. Try it.

Now we know how lighting plays a part in bring out the best or worst in the things we want to photograph.

Thanks. Everything left untouched.
