Hey guys,

Someone is selling this beautiful Geneve Dynamic, however I cannot find on the web the same model and it looks like the hands of all models found are different.

What do you think?

To me, as a first impression, the hands do not look right. From the various images I have looked at, on the Dynamic, the hands are straight the going to going to a diamond point tip. These hands, by contrast, look like they have come from some kind of tool watch (Railmaster-type? Seamaster-type?). Not very Geneve to my eyes.

To clarify, I am talking about hour and minute. The second hand *might* be OK?

Omega dynamic 2 from the 70’s.

The hands are interesting... there is some variation on these models, and the hand lengths seem perfect... It is not a hand type you expect to see on these...

You normally expect to see Flightmaster style hands or baton hands. I would lean towards them being added later.. but the length is perfect for the dial...

That dial is not normally seen on an SS case, and that crown looks to be from a gold plated case which you would expect that dial to be in.

Depends on the price and how much you care if it is original, or if you just want to wear it.

Thanks and yes I had the same impression.

Someone is selling for about $400, claiming that the bracelet is not original. The dial and the seconds hand look like the other ones but the minute and hour don't.

Generally in some seamaster models (like the one attached) the must "arrowish" hand is the hour but not the minute one.

Options from other sellers, if the Geneve Dynamic doesn't seem right, from those other models what's your opinion and which one would you choose?

broad arrow hands is the name. The hands on the dynamic don’t really have a name and I’ve never seen anything quite like the. Honestly as I tried to allude to with the gold dial and crown…. I think it’s a combination of parts which lends credibility to the theory that they have been added later.

The difficulty I see with both of the watches you are proposing as alternatives to the Dynamic is the bubbled state of the lacquer on the dials and the staining in behind that (not as bad on the second, perhaps, but still problematic). Personally, I would be reluctant to buy either watch. Very early on in my collecting, I bought a watch with a dial with bubbled lacquer and decided to get it restored - it was done very well by a specialist in dial restoration (the result being extremely hard to tell) but the restoration cost me twice as much as I had originally paid for the watch itself. Now, the only watch I have left with a bubbled or peeling dial is one I keep purely for sentimental reasons (an old Seiko Lord Marvel 36000 manual wind with an early seahorse caseback) and, although serviced, I will not pay for the dial to be restored. Likewise, I will not buy any more watches with bubbled or peeling dials.
