Omega Geneve Dynamic - genuine???

Hi all,

I have recently expanded my search to Omega Geneve Dynamic models. I came across this one from a local vendor (too far to see the watch in person however).

The photos aren’t great, I will ask more depending on your initial feedback.

My concerns:
• Overall the dial looks a bit too pristine, especially where the lume is meant to be.
• How can I get an idea for the bracelet? What parts need to be pictured?
• I read that there are quite a few watches out there with NOS parts and old movements… is this one of them?

Otherwise:
• The Omega logo is slightly different to the main examples from Desmond’s essay, however it’s close to another one on page 8 - see below - which is Calibre 752, 166.0079 from 1969.

• Hard to tell with certainty from these pictures, but the rest looks decently close to what could be expected.
• T Swiss Made T is there
• Case looks sharp (too good to be genuine?) but missing photos of the outer case back

Any thoughts welcome!

Regards,
Lucas

My watch is very similar, 166.0079 from 1969 with the 752 movement.

Here it is right after I got it from my father (original owner) last fall.

Here it is a couple months later after it came back from service. Had only the crystal polished as part of that service, no polishing on the metal at all.

These models are Rarely faked. Still see the occasional NOS one as they were a select person who rocked one of these daily 😉
I have noticed over the years these are probably the no 1 style that you happen to see pristine examples quite regularly.

It looks the goods to me

Great, thanks for your answers @kohster @STANDY @dsio
I will try to negotiate a bit. Currently sits a 800€ which is a bit strong, despite it being it really nice example.

This style tends to age well.
Yes, it’s been growing on me recently as it’s an unusual shape. I just hope I can cope with the extra thickness compared to other slimmer vintage watches.

Too much money imo, these aren’t that sought after

The ladies versions sell for a fraction of the gents.

I have a rather nice dial for the larger version (sadly with a hairline crack in it. still usable) So I have been watching in case something redialed came up cheap. So far no luck.

800 seems to be on the high side. Gents seem to be arround 250 to 400 and the ladies 65 to 200 or so. Always remember to add a few hundred for service.

Looks fine to me although lack of "swiss made" on the dial would warrant further investigation. Edit. I have just seen the Swiss made very faint on the lighter part of the dial.
My date only version says hello

You’d be surprised - these are surprisingly slim, comfortable watches. Agree with others that price is too strong. Happy hunting!

The Swiss made on mine is in the silver colored part of the dial making it a little more difficult to see
Shoot can’t even get a good pick of it and I have paint on my hands need to be careful how I hold it

Thanks all. I’ll try to lower the price point. I also noticed that the Swiss Made appears often missing depending the angle on these references.
Will keep you posted!!

Still knowing these references, but given the case would this not be second generation?

This is interesting an outrageous bid on a Tool 102 ladies dynamic on Shopgoodwill. The coin sort of gives it away. The current bid is on the high side with nearly a week to go.

The crystal on this is also shattered. Probably from attempts to open it with the wrong tool.

Yes there are lots of ladies dynamic out there, at much lower prices, but unfortunately not really an option, as this would be too small!

The ratio crown vs. case makes it easy to spot ladies vs. men

Looks first generation to me. Case has the sunburst radial brushing.
