Help - trying to date a grandads vintage Omega

Hello,

This watch was left to me from the relative of the original owner. But I’m struggling to find out any thing about it from the serial number. Just wondered if anyone has seen one similar or has any idea about date and model. I think it’s Deco around 1923 - 1925. The serial number on the mechanism is 7104054 and the number imprinted on the inside of the case is 6544060

Thank you

😲

How lovely. I don't have time to research (dinner is nearly ready) but I'm sure others will contribute.
The number in the little hammer will tell you who made the case for Omega.

I'm off to dinner.

It could be a 26.5 movement, how large is the movement? Serial numbers in the 7 million range should be from 1929 and 1935. It looks like it could use a service, the regulator should not be almost pointing to the center wheel.

Edit: I'm wrong, Mac is right is a 23.7.

the only things I can tell you:
case ist 14k solid gold
movement is a cal 23.7
watch looks all orginal including hands and crown and seems to be in good condition
the movement is overdue for a good service by a watchmaker who is used to work on vintage watches (not only a battery changer).

not at all
You're right, I don't know how I missed the lack of a click on top. Maybe it's too early for me.

Remarkably clean dial for a vintage watch.

Too clean???

Paint loss in the foot of the 2 marker.

Recent repaint?

Just the cynic in me speaking out.

It’s completely original- no repaint, possibly just a face polish and I believe it’s just residual polish on the 2 marker. It’s just it’s been in storage and completely forgotten about for most of its life and hardly used.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you so much for the information! I’ll find a proper watch maker for the service.
Many thanks

Drop your location into a site search and you’ll probably find some recommendations for watchmakers
