Hey guys, I'm currently considering to buy an omega seamaster and found this one here. I think it's safe to say the strap is not original, but how can I make sure the watch itself is not a fake one? Are these pictures that have been provided to me enough to judge?

Ref: 166.041 from 1960 according to seller.
The seller says it's a cal. 565 one.

Thank you for your help guys!

Refinished dial and incorrect hour + minute hands. Looks like the crown is incorrect too and possibly non-Omega. Worth ~$150 for parts imo.

There's a very similar reference available from a respected member here available in the classifieds, including BoR and a recent service by a great watchmaker, might want to check this out:

Looks great indeed, will contact him.
Isn't it possible to find these kind of watches with similar condition for these prices? (From Japan for example)

166.010s? Yeah, there’s not much of a price difference. Indeed I’d say 166.010s are more common than the one offered by @Davidt

I've bid 150 euros on every 565 Geneve as a watch I saw, multiple platforms and out of 100+ bids, 0 wins 😁

This will sell for $350 in a day, any day - regardless of the afterwork

That tag on the other hand ... hate it
