Hello, new member here. I recognize some of the names from other forums...

I have recently been bitten by the vintage bug and it consumes me something fierce. One of the watches I would like to get is a steel cased silver dialed Constellation. This one ticks most of my boxes

    • steel case - check
    • silver dial pie pan - check
    • cross hairs (BONUS!)
    • appears to be nice condition

The only thing that could make it better would be the absence of a date function.

One thing that concerns me, is I have spent a few hours looking at other examples on the web and I cannot for the life of me find another example with these specific 6/912 indices, which causes me concern.

    Any thoughts on that?

    Thanks!

I think I could be OK with a refinished dial, however are the indices original or is that all part of the refin?

And on that note, how do we feel collectively about refinished dials (if they are done well)? And is the above example even one done well?

IMO not done well and those indices look wrong to me.

And speaking for myself - the only time I buy a vintage omega watch with a refinished dial is as a parts watch even if the refinish is well done (which is not the case 99.9% of the time).

I believe the indices are wrong. Would need better pictures, but this dial could be fake. The hands are wrong.
