Hi, this is my first post and I need your help. I am interested to get this Connie and so far, I did not see anything suspicious. let me know if you see anything out of ordinary.

    My assessment:
    1) dial looks original: passes MOY test, font, star alignment, hour and minute hand, date bezel looks right.
    2) movement looks ok and clean
    3) dogleg lug looks ok
    4) case shows right reference. unfortunately picture quality can't distinguish signs of pearlage.
    5) case seems to be too polished. can't really see the stars at the back

I am not able to get anyn more picture so far from the seller. No response to my request

Due to the level of polish, this is more or less a parts watch in my view.

"a parts watch' meaning good for replacement part only?

Yes. No collector's value, IMO. Difficult to establish market value as it has none to me, but for someone looking for a great dial and possibly a spare movement for a project, it would be attractive.

I am betting that the seller doesn't have that scenario in mind... What is the asking price?

    Welcome @bradevan1
It’s good that as a first time poster you assessed the watch yourself but if you’re ready to drop the kind of money asked for a gold Connie then you need to be able to recognise when the doglegs have been all but destroyed (or set your condition bar higher)

For reference, this is what a gold cased dogleg should look like.

Parts watch means it has no extra value, than what the parts added together are worth.
Many people would think it looks great, & would be a great wearer. That is fine, I've seen a lot worse. I would wear it.
But it is not worth a premium, such as people would pay for an excellent example.

The lugs are so polished I'm surprised the the gold layer wasn't worn through to the base metal.

Shame as if it wasnt so overpoloshed it is quite attractive otherwise.

It’s solid 14k gold which makes this even more of a sacrilegious act!

This is what a dogleg lug should look like

Now look at the watch you pictured
It’s like melted butter compared to the above picture.

This is not a $1500 watch with a case so polished it’s a tragedy
