Hello. And happy new year!

My friend got this old watch, and we wonder if it’s real. My answer would be no.. but after some reading in here, I read that many of the older carrier must are very poor quality, so after reading that I couldn’t for sure tell if it’s legit or not.

I just think it looks off..

Yes Cartier made some really crap watches, this one I think is actually genuine.

Looks perfectly in keeping with early Must de Cartier output. That is to say very junky. I am a tad surprised that there is nothing on the inner caseback though.

In this era, the faker would get it wrong by being too high quality. Cartier have been a foremost jeweller for hundreds of years. And a shit watchmaker for quite a few of them. It just isn't their thing. With a couple of notable exceptions that is.
