I’m stuck here as the is completely out of my area, and I’m struggling to do much with Google apart from possibly date it to around 1911 based on the movement SN. So can anyone here tell me if this is a legit V&C movement, and if so what the calibre is ? Also any idea what it might have been fitted too ? The crown position seems odd in relation to the dial...

Has some of the bridge shapes of a Cal 454/455 (which it isn't).
What's the diameter?

23.86mm across the main plate so I guess 10 1/2 ligne.

And the dial just freely spins so no feet.

Then the movement I posted is wrong. I figured the dial was missing the feet.

Yes but it was pretty similar looking which gives me a warmer feeling 👍

Unfortunately Ranfft doesn't seem to have any V&C at 10.5 ligne so that’s a dead-end.

Going through completed eBay listings turned this up.

Described as 7/8 inch so may well be the same size.

So I guess the original dial broke on my movement and it was replaced with one without the sub seconds dial. So probably my movement is missing the wheel and or other bits. Runs though. Thanks for the pointers 👍

I don't know if this is going to help you but here is a watch I am just about to sell. It shows a similar serial number but a completely different movement layout on an 18ct demi-hunter that measures 24.5mm (across the movement). Note the spacer to fit it into a gent's watch size.

This is the second similar watch I have had. I bought the first around 20 years ago on Portobello Road, recognizing that the movement was, I thought, a Vacheron, but it was unmarked.

When I got it home, I took the dial off and there was the Vacheron logo! It seems that annoyingly for modern collectors, the company specialized in unmarked watches at around that time.
