Hi everyone,
Had a disaster today and now really angry. Bumped my arm and didn’t think anything of it. Just sat down an hour ago and went to admire my speedy and the bezel and bezel insert is GONE! I have already managed to source a new bezel insert but does anyone know what bezels would fit my watch. It’s a 311.30.42.30.01.005. Could I fit an older metal bezel? I have a fair bit of experience in watch repairs so I guess what I want to know is what bezels are compatible? could any 42mm speedy bezel be pushed on with a watch press

Insert and bezel are sold as one piece. Unlike Rolex the insert is not routinely serviceable.

Any Speedmaster Pro bezel will fit, bar possibly some examples so old as to be very expensive and irrelevant to your purposes.

That's not common, and very unpleasant, but it's worth searching for a smooth solution!
if the watch has still got its legal warranty (those have been extended in the past years) you could ask an Omega Boutique to take care of it! If there aren't signs of manipulation I'm confident they will solve the problem 😉

I'd take it to the nearest boutique and show them the watch. Even if it is out of warranty this is NOT supposed to happen. If it is out of warranty they may do a mercy coverage, you never know. Even if you have some experience in this area I think you should let Omega handle it just in case there is some underlying issue that caused it to detach itself. When you say 'bumped' are we talking a tap or a door jamb type bump?

You need a complete bezel assembly - it is part 082SU1589 | STEEL BEZEL TACHY - BLACK RING

If you have bought an insert without the steel bezel, it is very likely to be fake.

Any watchmaker with an Omega parts account can obtain and fit a new bezel for you.

Cheers, Al
