Hi all, I have a mid-40s/early 50s Leonidas chronograph which I believe runs a Landeron 48. The watch runs fine but recently it developed a fault: setting the time is impossible as the crown has become very stiff to turn. Any thoughts what's gone wrong with the movement? I can wind the watch with no issues and it keeps time.

    Any help is appeciated.

    Thanks.

Probably a seal on the crown has finally fractured after being solid for a generation.

I have owned the watch for 7 years, probably serviced 8-9 years ago. Was planning to send it away for servicing soon anyway.

Mention of that fish glue will get you banned.

I'll second the likelihood of a gasket that's gotten in the way, simply because that's what just happened in my Aquastar.
