Hello,
I am new to this forum and have been looking to purchase a vintage Seamaster. I have landed on the 166.010.
I found this one in Japan and would have to purchase it through a proxy service.
It's listed at $680 USD and it appears that everything is original and in decent condition. It has the original small crown which I much prefer, the BOR bracelet, as well as the cross-hair dial.
To my eyes, the only thing wrong is that it is maybe a little overpolished, especially on the bracelet and clasp.
I would just like to know if this is a good deal for the condition or if I should wait it out for a better example.

Terrible photos and hard to judge. My gut feeling is that the case has more than average wear and tear but the only part that looks badly polished is the back. You could wait for one with better photos or an auction, but it doesn’t look too bad to me as long as you’re not super picky. Because of the poor photos you could end up finding out the the dial is blistered. Also, Check the length of the bracelet. Appears to be only 19 links.

Much better examples pop up on this forum if you're willing to wait.

IMO looks good to me. Need better photos to see if those are painted or onyx inserted hour markers. Calculate the shipping fee, import duties and service to the total sum.
