Help please in identifying what this model "should" be

I've had this watch kicking around in a drawer for years and years, and not even sure how or when I acquired it. It's a 14k gold filled case with a caliber 342 bumper movement inside. The watch runs, and seems in pretty good shape, but it is clear that the dial is a (poorly) redone one and I doubt that it's original to the watch. Note the sloppy, off-center markings of the sub seconds dial. Hands and crown seem legit, but again - I have no idea what line this is supposed to be a part of.

The serial number on the movement dates it to 1952, but I can't seem to find out anything about the case. Hoping somebody might be able to shed some light on what this watch would look like with all its proper bits in place. Let me know if you need more or clearer photos, and I will be happy to provide. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a US-made case, I believe, so no particular line or model name.

The white dial represents your watch. Dials have varied. Your markers are likely original to the dial.

Not the best refinish, but not the worst.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess dials do vary, and this would be a "general" automatic model, not part of any particular line. Just wish they'd taken a bit more care with the sub seconds dial and minute track. I have more information on this now than I had before, so thank you!

You might choose to find a better dial refinisher and have it redone. There is nothing wrong, in my mind, with replacing a bad refinish with a good one. I did that with a 1935ish Hamilton with a silver luminous dial and they relumed dial and hands at the same time. Some of the people here can refer you to a very good refinisher somewhere in Europe? Germany? I don't recall at the moment. But they'll share.

Thanks, if anyone has recommendations for a dial refinisher, I'd be happy to take suggestions. Beyond the dial, I think this is a very nice watch, and worth putting a bit of work into. I'm in NYC, but anywhere there's a reliable place to have it done is most appreciated.
