    I recently bought this watch. Based on the caseback it is certainly a 1956 recased model. The dial does not look original to the 1940s but might anyone be able to confirm this? The 9 and 6 are not 'closed'.

    It’s a MOD dial.

    Thanks. Does this mean that it is correct in light of the 1956 refurbishment?

    I polished the glass just to take out the unruly scratches and it looks like a million now. I have a further question: when the RAF re-cased and re-dialled the CK2292s, did they retain the original hands from the 40s
