This just popped up for sale - the only pic listed for now,. Been looking at these. What do we think about the dial, hands, plots?
Re done by British MOD- "...in 1956 the British Ministry of Defense modified existing stocks of its wartime Omega wristwatches by repainting the dials and hands, and re casing them in the more robust and larger (36mm without crown) screw-back stainless steel version sourced from the well regarded case maker Dennison. The watches were then reissued to RAF pilots and crew and used in active service for navigation." Nice watch-price a bit high IMO
I see it offered at $1,200 which is surely high side? It is, however, a pleasingly uncluttered dial - just a bit too 'clean' for its age. With military watches any variance from expected condition is bound to raise doubts.
what do you mean? expected condition? pls. read the history before you comment. you only need another pics. from the back with the engravings and whatever price you are prepared to pay, this watch is a rare military watch in it`s best form. just find out about "omega military 1956 recased WW 2"..... and you will know as well. kind regards., achim
