Hello to all of you falks,

this is my first post here. I am an Omega fan and have 5 Omegas in my collection. One of them is this beautiful and almost unworn Omega Megasonic reference 398.0829.

As I bought it and put battery, sound can be heard, micromotor was working, but second hand was fixed. Just sometimes second hand is moving a few seconds.

I send it to very reputable watchmaker who serviced it and after the service, situation is the very same. He is also confused.

Could someone help me please? Should I buy a new micromotor or it can be also gears. My watchmaker suspects at two gears.

Has anyone here parts for 1220 caliber?

As I saw, Jack Daniels83 has some parts, hope he will see this thread. :)´

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I think you're well aware that these watches are a different beast when compared to the mechanical movements we are used to.
Is your watchmaker specialized in servicing/repairing these kinds of movements? If not I think you should send it to a specialist.
I guess you have seen this thread already: https://omegaforums.net/threads/update-video-omega-megasonic-720hz-arrival.80526/
Diagnosing a movement, I'm afraid, is not that easy without pictures of the actual watch or more detailed information, if it is possible through the forum at all and especially on such a timepiece as this is.
P.s I'm not an expert on these, just my two cent's worth on the matter. Also, if you want to tag somebody in a post in order for them to see it, you do it like this @renault4gtl by typing @ and then their name.
    Good luck fixing your watch!

Also far from being an expert, but weren’t some of the 720hz movements used by other manufactures as well? I think I recall a friend picking up a complete new movement for ~100€, but that should’ve been a cal. 1250 for a 198.002.
Apologies if that is not correct / frowned upon, I’m sure some of the users here will be way more qualified to comment on that, but I thought it might be worth a try.

That is a tuning fork hummer movement. Different gravy. No other manufacturers used the 720Hz Megasonic movement AFAIK.

As first thank all of you for answers. Watch is still on service, so can´t picture it, but after service I will post photos of this and my other Omegas.

Yes, this is humming movement, not ESA or classic quartz movement.

@JackDaniels83 Hello Jack, would you be so kind to see this thread, and give mi some advices. I live in central Europe, so it is very hard to find specialist, or even to send to US.

I know that STS used to have spare for these but they don't actually service them anymore, maybe if you popped in over there you could convince them to let you buy a movement ;-)

I do quite have some parts left. But I would have to investigate the watch. There are three magnetic gears in the movement. They could be faulty, but you can't test it, but only exchange them with parts from a known working movement. Could be the motor (including the first gear) or the following two wheels.

Thank you Jack for your answer. These days I will take my Omega and post some pictures here. Also I will give these advices to my watchmaker.

STS don’t, but Swisstec does (same company)
