Help Needed to Identify Vintage Omega Watch – Model 2300/7 with R17.8 SC Movement?

Hello everyone,

I’m new here and yesterday, by chance, I acquired an Omega watch. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to identify the exact model yet, as I keep finding only similar versions.

Inside the case back, the number “2300/7” is engraved, which leads me to believe it might be a variation of the 2300 series. However, I haven’t been able to find any information specifically about the “2300/7” model.

In a German forum, it was suggested that it could possibly be the R17.8 SC movement. I’m grateful for any information you can provide, as I can’t say for sure if it’s in its original condition. The previous owner paid €800 due to the excellent condition of the dial.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Unfortunately the dial appears to be in ‘excellent condition’ because it’s been refinished. It’s not a factory Omega dial.

Alright! Thanks for the info. I couldn’t find the model or this dial anywhere. Do you have any idea which model it is?

Well you won’t find this exact dial anywhere as it’s not an Omega dial. It’s a redial that’s influenced by a variety of original dials that are currently in vogue.
