Hi guys, found a local flightmaster for sale ... seller is asking $2700 USD.

Are there any red flags or issues you can see?

Advertisement description is minimal hence my concern. Movement photos requested but seems to be taking his time.

    Any comments appreciated!

The ad is very minimal, doesn’t have any reference no... I have also requested that with no response yet.

What’s going on with that clasp?

I like it, it looks like a nice original watch.

Could be one of those bracelet extenders?

    Looks good and honest.

    Condition consistent throughout.

You should factor in a service, if there is no proof of one being done recently - these are not cheap...

Nothing alarming, the price is very appropriate, it's an honest watch which really presents well. The movement appears to be very clean and nothing looks out of order outside the strand of fiber or hair hanging on the top right which was hopefully removed prior closing the caseback.

I'd have no hesitation in pulling the trigger.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Beautiful piece! Before we go back to OP's question, can you comment on yours for comparison:
    - is this a NOS piece or are there some service parts like the dial? (The T lume plot have a nice green color to them)
    - is this the original bezel? (Need to grab my flightmaster only to check again... but if memory serves well, the service bezels have a fatter font, no?)
    Anyhow... beautiful!

@ATWG and @tyrantlizardrex are surely more experts than I am, but I will second their assessments!
    - watch seems honest and everything seems to check out (doesn't appear to be a Frankenwatch)
    - case back is correct, unmolested with no opening tool scarring, DC-8 engraving still visible and proper logo below the reference
    - the sunray finish is still visible on the case, so it is nice to see that this has not been over polished.
    - hands also look nice, with no loss of paint near where the hole for the stem is, thus indicating that they may have never been removed for service
    - bezel seems original, and not a service one as it has the thin font
    - not sure about the clasp, but the bracelet and end links check out
    - price is good... but as said before me, you will likely need to get this serviced if you want to wear it regularly

Good luck and keep us posted.

Here is my NOS for comparison, the font on the bezel look to be the same to my eyes.

I always thought it was a DC-8. Looking more closely I think it might be a Boeing 707.

edit: fat fingers typing 9 instead of 8 ::facepalm1::

After a second look I think I'll mention the bezel, the numbers look thicker and heavier printed than I'd expect to see, somewhat 'blobby' for want of a better word. Check out especially the 4's to see what I mean, although all of the numbers have the same look to a lesser extent

Good point. I initially thought it was due to the (low) resolution of the photo... but unsure now that you highlight it.

Looking at them closely now, I think it might be the autofocus on the camera, and the angle of the crystal distorting.

Would be good to see a square on, well lit, fully in focus shot to confirm one way or the other...

Looks good , maybe just the bracelet was not supposed to be a 155 end-link ?
