It's a touchy issue, we have canadians complaining about CONUS sales ads yet some of us will not ship outside of N/A.

I don't think that is the case here, as this appears to be the problem:

"not flexible to adapt to my shipping descriptions"

So no one has said the seller won't ship outside Canada...and it appears from other comments made that the seller won't undervalue the package, and I don't blame them.

archer, yes and no. the seller is a new ebay guy and insists on Fedex and charges double the price for shipment than Canada EMS postcourier with some insurance will take. and i like to keep the stated value on the parcels under A$500 for security on the way. and i do not like somebody to declare outside the parcel:" Watch ". that is a disaster waiting to happen. kind regards. achim

Don't mention Austria, it still makes me angry.

I posted a package in Paris, addressed to a member in Austria, probably only about 1,000 kilometres away.
After significant delays and many enquiries it arrived in Austria, complete with a re-direct stamp from Brisbane Australia 馃槻.
After that, as suggested by @mac_omega, all mail to Austria was sent to "脰sterreich".

I also posted a package from Avignon to a member in Zagreb which never arrived 馃槨.

So my experience with postage in the EU is not conducive to confidence (looking at you La Poste).

I have however, had no problems with shipping from Australia to many other countries using Australia Post, and conversely, none of my incoming packages from various countries has ever gone astray, even a couple from Italy!

I'm sure Achim will be fine with his delivery.

I remember very well ::facepalm1::

I think one of the problems shipping from France is that many of the older people over there working for la poste don麓t speak Englich or any other language than French (except the younger educated generation of course) - so they misread Austria as Australia...
To avoid that risk the shipping label should read "Autriche" ...

Always ship with the description "timing device", apparently it confuses the P/O.

I would personally use "precision instrument" as timing device is a little too obvious.

"Precision instrument" is what ParcelPro uses, and considering they insure more watches than probably any other while in transit, I trust their judgement. If the postal worker is a watch guy, using chronometer has not only identified it as a watch, but likely a high quality watch...just something to consider.
