Help me ID this watch please, thanks!

I bought this watch, but I don't know much about watches (first vintage watch!). Anyway, I wanted to start to restore it or at least order the parts, some of the issues are that runs fast, the day/date doesn't change when it's supposed to and the crystal is damaged. Anyway, helping me ID the watch is the first step, so thanks in advance.

Hi Michael. Welcome to Omega Forums! The information you're looking for is in the pictures. The watch's reference number is on the inside of the caseback. I can't completely read it, but it looks like 165.0205 (which doesn't match up to anything so I must be reading it wrong). The bottom number probably starts with a 3, which would be the reference number if it were on a bracelet from the factory. You might need both numbers for ordering parts. The movement's serial number of 42,422,641 means it was manufactured in 1979.

Is it possible that its the wrong back plate?

Not only that, you have more incorrect parts. The back plate is for a watch with an integrated bracelet, and the caliber 1010 should only be a date - not a day date. Some movement parts have been replaced also. It's what we call a frankenwatch.

If you can return it do so. $190 is too much for that watch in that condition even if it were correct.

Contacted the seller on ebay, paid through paypal, so I'm covered for another 2 weeks. Only problem is that it came through Israel, so it might be a pain to ship back.

Okay, that's good. I've seen mint DeVilles and Genèves from the mid to late 70's sell for only a few dollars more than that price in the last year or so. If you're budget can extend to $300-ish you'll score a very nice example most likely. We'll help you find a worthy watch.
