This is a tough call, I would probably go with the PO, because it stands out that bit more but it does have the HE valve and the orange may be more difficult to wear at times if it is your only watch.

I have the PO, standard though it has been modded with an Orange Bezel which I love. Actually loved is more apt, as it has faded somewhat in the past years. Admittedly, it was always my go to watch and I wore it even as a "beater," that is perhaps when I should have taken it off. I am not a fan of the Orange Numerals, though love the orange bezel, especially as I still have the original "black" bezel. Having said that, the red on Omega second hand tips always fade.. I use them as a "service dip stick." .Good luck.

Who swapped out your bezel for you? A couple years ago I wanted to go in the other direction (orange to black), and Omega refused to do it.

Another vote for the GMT, especially if you can get it on that bracelet, and not the 90s-looking Bond bracelet

So, what gmt omega watch would you recommend? The Seamaster PLANET OCEAN 600M OMEGA CO‑AXIAL GMT 43.5 MM??

SM for me but. I am assuming you have narrowed your choice to these. Buy one and then save for the other.

This is a pretty sweet update, though
Still kind of thick

If I were choosing between these two, I would be considering lifestyle. Activity level, diving, hiking, skiing the PO. Travel and adventure the GMT.
In the long run, my guess is the GMT might retain it's value a little better.

I vote GMT, but I am biased in this matter 😁

That said, I use a timing bezel much more frequently than a GMT, so think about what you'd actually enjoy/use more regularly. Then, after you decide, just start saving up for the other one.

This would be my recommendation, after having had both. The GMT is really a nice watch. I had it, loved it and gave it to my brother. Now the latest version of the PO 43,5 mm with the caliber 8900 is thicker, but in my eyes much more refined optically and technically.

I prefer the P.O. The Orange is a beautiful watch to see in person. Also
It is a wonderful conversation starter.
The GMT at first glance almost tries to mimic an older Rolex Explorer 2... in its
Style. Always a coin toss... in preference.
I say Heads ...Go Orange!
