Help me buy a vintage omega

Hey, I'm new to this forum and to vintage Omega but I was looking to maybe buy one for myself recently. I found a 1960's seamaster online for what I think is a good price but I was wondering if someone could give me an estimation on the price, as I don't know a lot about it. The pictures are from the seller and he says that everything is original except the strap. It doesn't seem to have been polished or the dial refinished.
What do you think I should pay for it considering that it is in running condition but probably needs a proper polishing and a new strap?
(Sorry for the bad pictures, I didn't take them)

Welcome to the forum! I can't ascertain much from the two photo. I'd expect a photo of the dial, movement, and caseback in focus at minimum. Without more, I'd pass on this watch. If the seller shares the reference number, you can at least search for the amount that similar watches sold for on this forum or eBay, although the condition of the watch significantly affects its value. Also, take a look through Private Watch Sales on this forum. You may just find something that you like in better condition and for a more reasonable price.

And tell us the asking price and the other information provided by the seller.

But, above all, ask for better photos

Thanks, the seller actually replied with a couple videos of the watch, but still not the best quality and the movement seems to be rusty/dirty even if it's working. The asking price is 480, but i honestly think I might be better off buying something from here.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but my gut feeling is that the watch is in pretty rough condition overall (both dial and case).

You will need to indicate the currency associated with 480 if you want feedback on price.

My bad, it's in €. I think I will pass for the time being. I was hoping that the movement would be in better shape.

You could say that about the rest of the watch too 🙁

Lovely how the seller is grabbing into the movement with bare hands. Immediate turn down for me. Obviously the watch needs service anyways, but still that is not a nice style..

480 is cheap for anything these days, but once you pay 300 for the service, and it is still in rough condition, then a lot of watches in the private sales section start looking really good.

you definitely can do better- this may seem like a good price but youll be better off with a nicer example at higher price

This forum is the best place to buy a watch.

If I were first time buying I'd keep a keen eye on the private sales section here.

The dial is too far gone, not an attractive patina in my view.

condition hold value, I'd suggest saving for a better example
