Totally a newbie here. Recently acquired loved for the small second hand dial! 344 caliber. Serial numbers I think date to 1955? Can’t find much on omega website. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

What is the serial? 1955 is at the upper edge of the bumper era.

Ah was the photo always there? Anyhow, that is indeed a late one, ~1954 at a guess.

I forgot to add the photo when I posted. Thank you for your help dating it for me. Continue to try and find more info on it, seems to be keeping time quite well for such an old watch!

According to my Guide to Watches. S/N falls between 1954 at 14 mil and 1956 at 15 mil

Based on the movement number. Could be in the 1954 year.

As mentioned by padders. You could just email Omega and ask for a possible date

Welcome tjames, I'm a jamest.
Chuck Maddox, a recognized authority, has some different ranges for serial numbers. Is there a significance to the date or are you trying to authenticate a late bumper?

I was hung up on dates (birth year and all that) but it passes.

Unless you have a dealer receipt with photos next to the delivering womb it's damn near impossible to ascertain.

I am so happy to enjoy the wonderful era's and the ebb and flow of fashion from the turn of the (20th) century to Art Nouveau followed by Art Deco, Modernism, the war, the 50'ies and on and on.

Your watch is wonderful from a wonderful era, might even be my birthyear!

Needs a strap though.....
