Hi all, So I'm thinking of buying a new (old watch) watch and I love the older style Seamaster and I have found this going up for sale in an auction soon. What year do you think it is? I'm edging towards 1968 Could someone tell me what they think to the dial? Does it look like a re-dial and is there anything else which should put me off it. What would a reasonable price I should pay for it? Also, what do people think about putting a nice nato strap on it? I think it would look pretty nice. Oli
Need better and more pictures please It's hard to comment on dial with this pic . Even though I think dial is original. And you should carefully look on the rust around the crystal to make sure The water or some moisture can not leak in.
Quit looking and PM @marturx https://omegaforums.net/threads/immaculate-whiteface-omega-ref-2639-s-s-1953.35314/
Ha, I was just looking for @obayesshelton to do this...we had a conversation, I think yesterday, and when I saw Martin's watch I immediately thought of him. You beat me to it @STANDY ! Seriously though obayesshelton, this watch is an outstanding example of a cal. 2xx. Inside and out it's excellent...if you don't buy it I might...
Hey I thought you were only going to buy ONE watch? I think we're now on #3.... did you get trapped on this slippery slope by any chance?
I may or may not have bought two over the past month but I keep seeing everyone's on here and then keep seeing watches come up on auctions. I might have also fallen for the nato strap and need a watch to accommodate. I actually blame all of you on here, why can you not all have 1 watch
