I was under the impression that the "reduced" was in regard to size not movement?
Common misconception. But the reduced is a different watch. The reduced and the mk40 share the same case at 40mm with a flat bezel. The dates and the racing’s have a 39.5mm case and a beveled bezel.

Omega themselves specifically called the 40mm case with the modular movement the Speedmaster Reduced.

Should be a Speedmaster Date 3716.50

Actually, a 37175000.

37175000 | WH SP AUTOM DATE GENTS

And as noted this is not a reduced model, as that designation is only for the modular chronograph models, for example:

35105000 I W SP RED AUTO 39 ST/ST BLK

The "RED" is the abbreviation for Reduced...

I also wanted to ask you about the lume. I saw where you commented on an old thread on the subject. Is it normal that this watch no longer illuminates after light exposure? It will for about 10 seconds after holding a light directly to it but that’s it. And do you recommend having it repainted, replacing the hands, or just leaving it as is? Thanks for your input.

Welcome to tritium. Why would you relume it? In general the patina on the tritium would look better then a luminova repaint.

From my limited knowledge, the typical Speedy Reduced models have a modular movement with the chronograph module sitting atop the watch movement rather than built integrated from the ground up (presumably this makes them slightly thicker than OPs watch). I think that's what Foo2rama is referring to.
The combo of 2892 3 hander and chrono module is substantially thinner than the 7750, which is a big old beast. I would always take an integrated chrono personally but there were advantages (to the manufacturer at least) in using the modular movement. Cost advantages too presumably. All 7750 derived Chronos are fat.

So it serves the purpose it’s supposed to and I can read the time in the dark.

Assuming it is tritium lume, the tritium will no longer power the phosphor substantially at this point. It would originally have glowed in the dark without the need for "charging". The type of luminous material used by Omega today needs to be charged and glows for a limited amount of time. Frankly, if you desire functional lume, vintage watches are not for you, so I recommend selling that watch and buying a new one.

However, if you want to try to retrofit that watch, the best solution for you Is to send the watch to Omega for servicing and ask them to replace the hands and dial with new ones, any other solution may have some problems. If you have just the hands replaced, the dial still will not glow, and the color of the lume in hands and dial will be mismatched and ugly. If you have the hands and dial re-painted, it could turn out ok, but only if it is done by someone who is a real expert. It could easily turn out sloppy, and the color could look funny.
