This is old enough to have originally had radium on the dial/hands, but it doesn't look to me as though it still does. Possible the dial was washed/repainted/relumed at some point.

Information provided by Omega indicates this model did have radium lume. This watch hasn’t been refinished at all to the best of my knowledge, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was still radium present.

Some seem to have quoted high values, but I beg to differ. It's a nice watch, but condition is fair at best.

This watch sold for $361.00 on Ebay. Redial and incorrect crown, but finding a unfinished dial and crown wouldn't add that much more if needed

Another in a gold capped case with hobnail dial and really clean movement for $650.00

Plenty on EBay have gone for 1-2k, and the average on chrono24 is about 1200. While I don’t expect to get near that, sub-500 seems really low for a watch that’s 100% original.

My minty 1950 2576-13 says hello. All original and untouched. A bit different, but definitely brothers! For reference, I paid about $1300 for this quite recently.

Are you able to post pics without hands covering the text? I suppose I'm confused by the shape of the partially concealed S in Seamaster, the small font for automatic, and the missing Swiss at the bottom. Might just be an aftermarket crystal/ring covering up the Swiss signature.

Honestly, radium or not, this shouldn't go into a kids mouth, you need to stop that regardless.

Uploaded! What are you concerned about? I know it’s not fake…

Of course, but when I am carrying him, he has this habit of leaning over and biting whatever watch I am wearing…

Hmm not quite what I was envisaging, and more understandable. Still, try and buck the habit

It's not just about originality. It's also about condition

Anyone can ask whatever they want. Getting it is another story

Check out Ebays completed auctions on Omega caliber 344. Lot nicer than yours for under $500

Throw it up on Ebay with no reserve and see if you get that +$500 price.

Been buying and selling for a number of decades and including about 200 vintage Omega models which I restored with my watch makers help, so I like to think I know a little of what I'm talking about

I have checked completed auctions, and there is a wide range, including ones that have sold for up to 2000. You are the only person on here and other forums so adamant that it’s not worth much. I’m not expecting top dollar, but I don’t expect to be low balled either.

Not sure anybody is low balling you. It is inevitable you will get a range of opinions and it's up to you to decide which you believe.
My opinion
In that condition, I think if you put in on a no reserve auction then on a good day you might reach $750 (all it takes is 2 interested buyers!) but on a bad day maybe only $400. But that way it will sell fairly quickly.

If you put up for sale at $1000 then you may have to wait some considerable time to find a buyer. If you have time on your hands and some luck then go for it.

It’s lovely, it’s genuine, it’s filthy, it definitely does have raduim still present.

I’d be surprised if it fetched in excess of $500-600 USD at present, $750-850 maybe after it has the necessary $300-400 service. (Yes I know those numbers look screwy but servicing watches doesn’t always add the full value of the service)

This talk of $2k valuations on a non chronometer 2576 are c24 pipe dreams lol, they never sell at those numbers.

Don’t kid you self with asking prices, in private sales (as opposed to dealer retail sales) they sell in the hundreds of dollars not thousands.

Interesting to see the 2576 that's the subject of this thread up on eBay at the moment with a bid of $229.

I wouldn't completely rule out that it could be sold at that price, but I wish that he would at least have done a little work cleaning away the muck around the caseback. As it is now, there is no way to tell if there is a bad case of corrosion underneath and at $950, there really shouldn't be.

2577/2576s are very hard to evaluate, IMO. The price fluctuates wildly and not always with any obvious reason.
